Condolence From: Damon Baklik
Condolence: Mr. and Mrs. Preston,
I have no words to express to you the sadness at the loss of your son and our brother in arms, Eric. The world is a lesser place without him. But I know he is with God and the Angels and I know even Heaven is improved by his presence there as said in the Marine Corps Hymn, “If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heaven’s scenes; They will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines.” I know you too are sure of this and yet this knowledge can't diminish his loss and your grief.

Those of us who have had the privilege of serving in the Marine Corps value our experience as among the most precious of our lives. The fellowship and of shared hardships and dangers in worthy cause creates a close bond of comradeship. It is the basic reason for the cohesiveness of Marines and for the pride we have in our Corps and our loyalty to each other. Eric, like all Marines was proud to be a member of us Band of Brothers and believed it to be second to none. His loyalty to God, our Country and to the Marine Corps, Eric was adhering to our motto Semper Fidelis.

Rest in Peace Marine. Your Honor, Courage and Commitment has not gone unrecognized.

Semper Fi and God Bless.

Damon Baklik, USMC Veteran

Condolence: Hi Paul, I was shocked and sad when I heard that Eric had passed. I sorry that I could not speak with you today but it was a beautiful tribute mass and grave side service. Eric was loved by many, and love does not pass. My son also loves lacrosse and I will think of Eric whenever I watch a game. Please share my condolences with Dianne, Paul and Dave.
