Cardigan Memories

Hold the pickles hold the lettuce, Frank could be a menace to children at those Cardigan weekends. I thought it was bad the time he stepped on my head and crunched it into the snow during the annual father child snowball fight (soon to be eliminated as too dangerous, but to whom?), but then in Jr. High School came the toboggan run. We came from the top of the hill behind Little House on a 4 person sled. I took the rear because I didn't trust my brother John to be the driver and I figured I could jump if it became too scary. Sure enough I tried to bail probably 10 feet after starting but Frank, gentleman that he was, was sitting in front of me with a secure hold on my legs to keep me from falling off. We hit the tree at the bottom without deviation. My head hit Frank's with the same force. He felt nothing but I spent the next week at school explaining my 2 beautiful black eyes.
