My deepest condolences go out to you,Gary's family. I've been a customer at Arco Tire for something like 30 years. I'm quite broken up over his loss, which I just learned of today when I went to the shop for a car problem. I feel like I've lost a friend that I could always depend on. Whenever I brought my car in, Gary took care of me - if it was something minor, he often didn't charge, and I knew I could count on him for an accurate diagnosis, the best price, and the best service he could possibly give. He always seemed truly glad to see me and gave me a warm welcome, and I was always glad to see him and just liked him as a person. He knew I had low paying jobs, and bent over backwards to help the charges be as low as he could, and it always meant a lot to me. He was so very generous. Over the years, he saw me through at least 6 or 7 cars, and moves to towns where continuing to use him was inconvenient, but always worth it. He helped my dad out with his car problems too, and even went out of his way to give my dad a ride home once when his car was in the shop. I recommended all my friends who were looking for a mechanic, to Gary. I had no idea he was suffering, and wish I had a chance to see him more recently. I will miss him very much whenever my car needs work, for the rest of my life I'm sure, as a 30 year business relationship is a long time. And I will be forever grateful for the excellent care he gave to me and my cars over the years. I wish you all the best and send you prayers for healing as mourn the loss of this wonderful man who made a difference in my life.

This is Jackie- apologies for poor estimation of years with Arco Tire - probably 20 - 25 is accurate

I am a customer of Arco Tire and only learned of Gary’s passing yesterday (10/25) when I brought my car to the shop. Gary always made me feel as though I was an old friend rather than a customer. His smile and humor will be missed deeply. Sending my sincere condolences,

To my sister, Virginia & her husband Charlie, Gary’s wife Susan & Gary’s children Caroline & Gary Jr. and to all his family, you are in my thoughts & prayers. There are no words that I can say to tell you how I fell about Gary’s passing.
The last time that I saw Gary was at his shop. I just stopped by to say hi and he came out with that beautiful smile on his face to say hi. I went over to him to give him a hug and he stopped me because he said he was dirty. I told him “so what, I didn’t care?” We both hugged and started laughing. I will never forget that day.
I will always remember how Gary was with my son, Joey, kind and helped him when he went to see him about his cars. Joey loved Gary and most of all they were friends. Gary, I love you and will miss you always.
Your loving aunt,
Barbara Gaffney
