John A. Nacco, of Arlington, MA, formerly of Schenectady, NY, died peacefully in his Arlington, MA home on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the age of 80. He was born in Schenectady, NY, on August 3, 1932, and lived in Arlington, MA for 2 years. He received a Purple Heart as a Navy sailor during the Korean War. John was pre-deceased by his “true love” and wife of 52 years, Mary (Terry) Nacco. During his 25 years at Firestone Tire Company, he rose to the position of Vice President of Sales for Northern Europe. Subsequent to that, he owned and operated four successful tire and automotive stores in northern New Jersey. During his retirement, John embarked on an acting career and performed in feature films, on stage, and on television. His credits include episodes of “Law and Order” and “The Sopranos”; the Off Broadway play Tone Clusters; and the feature film True Love. He was a parishioner of Saint Agnes Church in Arlington, MA and a Third Order Franciscan. Devoted father of Stephen D. Nacco and his wife Cynthia of Manalapan, NJ; Susan L. Nacco and her wife Clementine of Medford, MA; and John G. Nacco and his wife Bobbette of Wyckoff, NJ. Cherished grandfather of John, Anthony, Adam, Joseph, Stephanie, Alyssa, Jason, Andrew, Magdalena, and Giuliana. Brother-in-law of Jerry Terry of Schenectady, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Saint Agnes Church, 30 Medford Street, Arlington, MA on Friday, October 19th at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Schenectady, NY on Saturday, October 20th at 10:30 am. Family and friends are invited to repast immediately afterward.
