COVENEY, Robert L., of Waltham, formerly of Cambridge & resident of Edith Nourse Memorial of Bedford VA Hospital; age 81 died March 31, 2011 after a brief illness. Son of the late William A. & Catherine (Murphy) Coveney & brother of the late William J. Coveney. Survived by his brother Paul F. Coveney & his wife Dorothy of Watertown. Also survived by his nephew, Chip Coveney, his wife Kimberly & children Brittany, Christopher & Spencer of Hopkinton. Also survived by his niece, Denise (Coveney) Prior & her children, Noah & Luke Prior of Watertown. Robert was a graduate of Arlington High School, class of 1947. Member of the GBI; the Metropolitan & N.E. Championship teams. He played hockey for Arlington Arcadian & the Lynn Olympics. He is a graduate of Bentley College & Suffolk Univ.; Retiree of the US Postal Service, Korean Army Veteran; member of the BoSox Club; American Legion Post 156; the VFW; & Ancient Order of Hibernians, Div. 14. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Rt.60, (adjacent to St. Agnes Church) ARLINGTON on Wednesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Rd., Waltham at 10 am. Services will conclude with burial in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Relatives and friends invited.
