Condolence: All my associations with Wolfhart over the years at Harvard left me with a very firm sense of his decency, humility, Gemütlichkeit, and professionalism. I could also see that in his low-key way, he was also extremely witty; I will never forget his reading his magnificent limericks at the retirement dinner for Frank Moore Cross. RIP.

Condolence: My condolences for Professor Heinrichs to his family, his students, and all those like me who counted him even briefly as a colleague. He had plenty to teach, and his legacy in this respect lives on through his many lessons from which we benefited.

Condolence: There was a boy from the River Rhine
With a mind so sharp and manners fine
His passion was the east
And jokes, sometimes at least
That clever boy from the River Rhine

Good bye, dear uncle in America

Condolence: My condolences to Alma Gisa and to all of the students of Professor Heinrichs. I was not his student at Harvard, but I was lucky to attend some of his lectures and benefit from his ideas and good humor. I developed a new appreciation for classical Arabic literature thanks to him. He was a true cosmopolitan intellectual, and a kind human being. Even though his intellectual and human legacy will continue through his many students, he will be greatly missed.

Condolence: My uncle from far, far away. I might say I hardly knew him, but I remember him being a kind and tremendously smart man with a great sense of humour. I always feel desperate facing the loss of another great mind, and this time it is even worse. May he rest in peace.
