I had the privilege to be able to meet Matt while on a trip to Massachusetts, and then to travel with him to visit a mutual friend a few years later. To know and spend time with Matt was an absolute joy. He had a kindness about his spirit that was palpable, of the sort that one encounters very rarely during one's journey on this earth.
