Ted Bowser

My memories of Mrs. Byrne are vivid, it’s almost as if I was living next door on Wachusett Ave just last week. As a neighbor and Jack’s friend I spent quite a bit of time with the Byrne’s. I was a precocious and somewhat obnoxious teenager. Mrs Byrne had a way of looking at me and truly listening to my lame attempts at wit or humor. She would smile, pat my shoulder and say, Oh Ted, in an gesture of support and affection. She always made me feel special. I realize now that her behavior had less to do with me and everything to do with her. She was that way with everyone, she was just a nice person. Her niceness was authentic, unpretentious, and without any self serving motive; it was just who she was and how she lived her life. While my condolences go out to the entire family as they come to grips with their loss, I would hope that they can take a moment to celebrate the fact that were blessed to have this wonderful woman in their lives. I know that in the short time she was in my life she had a significant impact.
