The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John F. Parsons, Jr. can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I am truly sorry to hear that my best friend has passed away. I have know John from Grammar School though High School and like John and my brother we all joined the service so our paths went in different directions but our past together will always be there. He was a true friend and we shared wonderful times together. John introduced me to Country Music, Red Sox, and the Bruins as I was not a sport fan before he got me hooked on them. I loved going over to his house especially on Wednesday's as that was beans n franks night. Yum. If my memory is correct his dog Prince was actually his best friend so I guess I was his 2nd best friend :-) We used to go Candlepin bowling near central square and although we were never that good we had a great time together. John knew I loved airplanes and during High School he would come with me to Logan Airport and we would climb the fence to get closer to the National Guard aircraft and take pictures. I appreciated him coming with me to share what I always had a passion for. Although John and my brother Ray joined the US Navy and I joined the USAF, we all served around aircraft and that bond is so strong that it will always be with us. Today John is flying higher than both my brother and I. Now when I look up at aircraft flying by I will remember John always.
